Re: syntrx information needed
There are some model specific charts available at http://www.batlabs.com/models.html that may give you a little basic information about this unit. And a page dedicated to this radio at http://www.batlabs.com/syntrx.html with limited information. If you have a control head / microphone similar to the one pictured below, I don't believe a desk mic will work with one of these as they were designed as a microphone / hand held control unit setup only, that was really the beauty of these units everything was controled via the HHCH, very similar to the HHCH Spectra's.
This is a interesting site on the Syntrx http://www.users.bigpond.com/glenn_percy/synmod.htm
If you are looking for something you can use a desk mic with there are lots of other radios available that you could use.

You can try to mod it if you want, all you need is the service manuel with the pinouts for the microphone and the pinouts for the desk microphone you want to use. Best of luck.
If I were you I would buy another inexpensive radio that can easily accept a desk microphone and use the unit you have for a mobile installation.
