Ok heres where I need a little help.
MCS2000 hipower VHF was here on the bench and just had it powering up by the on off switch to a power supply.
I now put it in the car added the pin 15 +12v on the acces plug for the ignition.
turned the soft ignition feature on in the radio and the radio stays on all the time unless I turn it off manually.
in the acces plug there are 2 jumpers Pin1 to pin2 and pin4 to pin 9
????? How do I get the radio turn on and off with the ignition?????
I know its something simple but I am stupid

Re: MCS2000 Ignition sense
Everything sounds like its correct.
Does your ign source truly come on with the ign or is it on all the time - double check it.

Re: MCS2000 Ignition sense
What kind of vehicle are you putting this in? One of our guys installed a radio in his truck and it wouldn't turn off when he pulled his key out. Turned out to be that he tired the ignition sense to the stereo of his truck. The stereo stayed on for a factory programmed amount of time, or until the door handle was lifted up to open the door.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Re: MCS2000 Ignition sense
Tied the ignition sense to a optional cigarette lighter. It shuts off with the key no delay.

Re: MCS2000 Ignition sense
Put it back on the bench and test your ign sense in a controlled environment.
If it works their then you have something wrong with the ign source in the vehicle.
Also - make sure your main chasis power is hot all the time in this config, it should not be switched.

OK - good luck. I have never encountered that problem.
I guess your gonna have to resolve that one before we can move on.

Re: MCS2000 Ignition sense
The MCS2000 radio is very sensitive to programming voltage. If it goes down just a little, you could
get into all sorts of strange problems. I know that the Polaris RIB will not program these radios. Have
tried and it will read, but fails on the write.
