MTS2000 - Error when reading

Post by citylink_uk »

Hi all,

I'm getting a "Error reading from image when attempting to unpack unblock Radio Wide Unpack failed" when trying to read the radio. I'm using R02.00.01.

Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks,
Rich

What is the firmware in the radio? If it is old (pre 5.4 IIRC) you will want to use RSS, not CPS. The older f/w can cause some read/write problems.

I don't know for sure that your issue, but it is just a suggestion.

edit.. Also could it be a MPT unit, or some other unit that requires it's own CPS/RSS?

Is there any way to tell without actually reading the radio? I can get it to show the Service info on the top display, but not sure what i'd be looking for.

Sorry, it's been a while since I last looked at an MTS!

Thanks,
Rich

Can you take a picture of the rear label and post it? What does the service info show?

Looking at the label, I think this may be a Spanish or Portuguese radio.

Service info says: 826400 7x01 H01RDD9AN5AN 432IXW2734 - As the model numbers don't match, perhaps it's been reflashed?

Your error is a typical one when using older CPS. The latest version is 2.02.00, or 2.03.00...I can't remember which at the moment.

The model number in the service mode comes back to a MT2100, top display with continuous rotary "Wookie". You will need to find the correct RSS for it, it is not a "standard" domestic Jedi MTS2000.

I guess I'll have to try and find a later version of the CPS then, as I only have 2.00.01

It looks like someone may have either re-cased or re flashed it. It has the typical MTS2000 label, but with ABC toggle and a two position rotary switch.

Thanks,
Rich

Have you tried the M2100 RSS?

MTS2000 radios with Select 5 signalling are badged as MTS2000 but are functionally MT2100, so need the M2100 RSS.

The latest version I have seen is...

UPDATE INFORMATION FOR 2000 & 2100 SERIES SELECT 5 RSS
RELEASE R02.10.01, KIT NO. GVN6011M
_____________________________________________________________________________

The following enhancement is available with this release of your RSS
software:

The RSS is now fully Year 2000 compliant.
