Astro Spectra Capabilities

Post by Tim »

Hi folks,

I have an opportunity to pick up an Astro Spectra (VHF).

I'm wondering if it can be determined whether it is P25
capable by looking at the model number only.

It is a T04JLH9PW9AN.

Thanks,

You will need the flashcode. It should be on the lable and will look like:

######-######-#

or

#############

where "#" represents a number or letter (A-F)

Once you have that number, go here:

and you will be able to determine the features of that particular radio.

Thanks for the info.

"00000010020005"

Looks like it is an analog only (G241/Q241).

Is re-flashing an option for this radio, and if so,
generally how much does it cost?

Thanks,

Yes, it can be flashed. List price on the upgrade is around $500.

Unless you can get the radio you are looking at for real cheap (like free) you would be better served to find a different radio that has the features you want. As you can see, adding featues can be very expensive.

Yeah! Once I saw the upgrade price, the radio was no longer a contender.

Thanks to all!!
