Frequency breaking

i know there is a way to make a 900mhz radio into an 800mhz radio....i want to make an MTS 2000 896-941 into 851-870mhz radio.....i think tis may be possible....if anyone knows can u please email me at this addess.....

you are right you go to your local /\/\ dealer and trade it in for an identical unit of the desired band. Seriously tho you can get another radio in the band you want easier than you can "make it a different band"

Aren't they widebanded? if not, they can be "convinced".

I want to make it so it is just conventional 851-870mhz, i don't know if the radio is wideband or not.......it is the 896-941mhz type....the type II with the 6 button keypad...i don't know if that makes a diffrence.....

Doesn't seem possible without parts changeouts. Basically your looking to change a
918 center freq. to 860 58 MHz is a real ss-tt-rr-ee-tt-cc--hh. UHF VCO's drop out
at around 20 MHz out of band.

Yea i figured i would just change it into a local dealer for the same radio and just trade in for the 851-870mhz instead of going through all the trouble...this might be easier......i think i will give up on doing things the hard way......i hate when i try to make myself do the impossible....
