Is a dongle required to upgrade the firmware on an APX7000?

Not now but its coming....In the future.Motorola will require a USB flash key drive.

Everything that's been put out so far says they weren't going to do this with the APXes. When did this come out?

Just because the cps talks about ibuttons and flashkeys does not mean it will be for firmware. I have been told that the plan is for the firmware updates to remain free with feature upgrades to be done via flashkey.

Oh,my mistake.I heard from some folks that said it was coming but if it will stay free,that's even better.I got two in my collection I use.
