Hi everyone... just ordered NACRE QUIETPRO headset with XTS cable. But after that I've encountered problems, finding compatible radio for this headset.
I really don't want to give up with NACRE QUIETPRO headset... I need your further assistance, guys, please, help.
Used Motorola XTS3000 is about $300, but I need a radio for about $100...
Used Motorola MTS2000 is about $175, a 4 watt, 48 channel radio, still a bit overpriced for my budget, but could be an option.
Motorola MTSX - ? who can tell anything about this radio?
Used Motorola MT2000 looks like elder brother of Motorola HT1000 - it has more channels and has been found for about $150...
I also noticed that models can be with or without keypad (and led display) - does it means, that frequency can be entered via this keypad "in the field"?
So, what I need:
1) compatibility with NACRE QUIETPRO headset.
2) at least 22 channels (Motorola HT1000 has only 16 of them)
3) "simple" programming via keypad, entering frequency via keypad "in the field". (Programming Motorola HT1000 via cable and old software via DOS is REALLY complicated)
4) UHF 403-470 Mhz
5) Price.. $100-200...
Thank you in advance!
I need to decide quick to inform the seller!

You might look for an MTS2000 Model I 48 channel with top display, I see those going to between $75 and $100, sometimes cheaper.
You probably won't find an FPP(frequency entry from keypad) capable radio close to that price range unless you go with a JT1000 which is limited to 16 channels. So you'll more than likely be stuck programming with a computer.

1) HT1000 - cons are programming via computer, but they are cheap and ok for me.
2) JT1000 - creat choise, but they are rare, I see $175 tag on ebay
3) MTS2000 - I know nothing about this model - it is not face programming, but is programming via computer easier, comparing HT1000?

I'd choose an HT1000 over an MTS2000 personally. Either radio you'd have to hook up to RSS/CPS to program. The HT1000 has more signalling options out of the box than an MTS2000. If you get a 16 channel HT1000, they all ( well, most anyway ) come with MDC1200, QC II, etc. right outta the box. The MTS has to be flashed for all those options. If you're looking for a CHEAP FPP radio, they don't exist. Most are very $$$$$. The JT1000 is very basic. Only 16 channels, no alpha tagging, no MDC, etc. Only options are HT1550 ( only WITH the red labeled programing battery ), XTS5000 ( again, $$$$ ) or APX series ( MAJOR $$$$ ).

Okay, I have to admit, I'm choosing among HT1000 and MTS2000 now (because JT1000 is rare).MT2000 man wrote:I'd choose an HT1000 over an MTS2000 personally. It's strange to me, that you preferred HT1000 instead of MTS2000.
Please, explain, what are those features MDC1200, QC II, etc. - I should check them before purchasing.
MTS2000 has 48 frequencies and nice top/front LED screen...

Re: URGENT!! Need to choose Motorola radio for NACRE QUIETPR
If you are unfamiliar with programming in RSS / CPS then I would also say go with the HT1000 or JT1000. They use the same RSS software and are easy to program in the RSS with a little practice. The JT1000 is only 16 channels, but you can reprogram in the field to the other ones that you need. I assume that you would not need more than 16 channels at any one time or on any one day.
The MT/MTS2000 is a great radio, and the display is very nice too, and 48 channels. The programming of the MT2000 or MTS2000 in RSS is CONSIDERABLY more difficult than the HT1000 RSS. If you are of the opinion that the HT1000 RSS is too complicated, then the MT/MTS2000 RSS is going to be WAY over your head.

Perhaps you should let someone who knows what they are doing program your radio if you think using HT1000 RSS is complicated.
