Same speaker mics and program cable for the XPR6350/6550 and the new XPR7550.
One thing I note is that the Public safety microphones for the 6350/6550 are not shown as compatible with the XPR7550. Maybe the XPR7550 doesn'y have the antenna connection on the side.
friends post from another list
"PMKN4012A has been upgraded to PMKN4012B. "A" version will not work with newest radio's like XPR7550. The "B" version is the only cable available now from Motorola."
that really sucks...
The XPR3300 XPR3500 Portable requires a NEW programming cable, PMKN4115A - VERY CHEAP.
The XPR 7350 XPR 7550 uses the same PMKN4012B cable as the rest of the TRBO/APX portables.
I am researching the antennas right now, it appears they have released about 9 new antennas for the XPR3300 XPR3500 series, trying to determine what is new about the connector. Details soon.
God I hate when they release a new radio line right before vacation....
The older PMKN4012A programming cable does not work with the new 'Trbo models, such as the XPR6100, 7350 and 7550. However, there's an easy mod to update it to a "B" version. Pop out the connector board from the radio-end of the cable using a small screwdriver or the like. You will notice a black wire soldered to the board all by itself near the top of the connector. Unsolder this wire and tack it to the pad along with the brown wire at the bottom left of the connector. Reassemble the connector and you're good to go and you just saved 75 bucks!
The mod JimCT posted fine for programming the 7550 with an A series cable, and it still works fine with 6550 radios. The 7550 does not have the antenna connector on the side like the 6550 does, that's why the public safety mics do not work on that radio. I really like my 7550 so far.
