Asset Tracking Software ?

What does you county and city use for asset tracking software ? I have over 15,000 radio on my system and looking for asset tracking software ideas. thanks

We use an excel file and give everything a control number and engrave that control number on the item.

Using a spreadsheet as a database?! BAD JMR3865! NO BISCUIT!

Use a proper database for that many records - it's not hard, and it will allow you to do things like
* enforce that all IDs are unique
* required fields are filled in
* Proper queries like "what serial #'s are associated with this department"

It's 15,000 * x number of records. That could be easily handled in a flat file, i.e.: CSV.
