Are All Motorola XTS500s Capable For 15 Zones Of 16 Channels

Post by Jim1348 »

As posted above, I am just wondering if all XTS5000 have 15 zone of 16 conventional channels? The one I have seems to have less zones than that.

There are special requirements if the unit has FPP. If memory serves, post-R09 FPP requires 15 zones of 16 channels for a total of 240 channels. You can add as many as you want after that, non-FPP, up to the radio maximum (870 or 1000, depending on firmware revision).

Non-FPP radios are capable of any configuration up to the radio's maximum number of channels. There's probably some limit at the edge of ridiculousness (like no more than 500 zones or something), but I've never found it.

My ASTRO25 CPS only allows a maximum of 50 zones with a maximum of 255 modes per zone.

Just open "Zone Channel Assignment", click the "++" button and scrolling down once will give you the maximum of anything that you can add.
