XTS3000 Question

Post by vjkurvy »

I have about given up on the XTS3000 series. I have plenty of programming experience with 2000, 2500, 3000, 5000. I have one radio that everytime I try to write the codeplug. It gives me an error I have never seen in CPS, “Advanced System Keys Required to write current codeplug. I get this error after loading all the system keys. I even tried little things like “advanced key report,” different cables. I was thinking maybe the radio is going bad. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this? If so, please let me know, I am about to trash this unit.

common issue ...ASK is a HW key ...USB

there was some posts about editing the SREC /bin file to remove years back. ASK location seemed somewhat dynamic as well ...location different depending on versions.

Usually easier to just over write with a new codeplug

Thank You for your response. I will try that tomorrow. I have hundreds of XTS2000, XTS2500, xts5000s. Seems like this Astro radio series is one big money dump. (XP 32, cables, screens, etc etc. I just hate to throw good tech away.
