Hey Guys,
Trying to understand if this is a setting in the programming setting or not. A buddy of mine has an APX 6500 VHF HP in his truck and so do I.
When he keys up, his MDC alert is programmed to Leading PTT-ID with the PTT ID sidetone, same as mine. But when he keys up in his truck you hear the MDC, then a beep echo upon transmission starting over the air , my radio does not. Any ideas on why this happens or if it’s a setting in the programming?
Thanks
MDC Chirp over the air

What do you mean by a "beep echo"? you can hear a brief echo of his radio's PTT ID sidetone?
That happens acoustically depending on the environment of the radio. Probably because he's in a truck.
No, there is no setting for that.
And yes, lots of views and no answers. Unfortunately the board here is basically dead. Which is unfortunate, as this was the leading site for information for a very long time.
