Fail 001 Question

Post by JAYMZ »

Can the extreme cold weather be a factor in causing a Fail 001 - Synth out of lock?

Happened this morning. Radio normally operates perfectly but this morning after sitting all night with the wind blowing at the airport at wind chills of almost -30. Radio is an Astro Spectra W9 mounted in the trunk of my car.

Once the car warmed up a bit the error code went away and didn't return all day according to my wife.

Could there be something else not quite right that could cause this? I didn't have my car today to check connections and such but the error went away and did not return.

Its possible. I had a x9000 that did the same thing in really cold temps.

I was hoping so. Not a good feeling after 16 long and rough hours at work and seeing that pop onto the display.
