Water Proof (resistant) Housing

Post by timmytorco »

We have to put a dual head Kenwoody into a fire truck and they want a control head outside in a water proof box. The trouble is they need to access volume and freq. controls so it has to open easily. I prefer an enclosure that has a spring loaded self closing lid. Any ideads?

You could maybe use a pelican case. You could cut some holes in the box to run the cables then seal around them with some marine sealant. There could even be room to mount a mic hang up clip. The pelican cases have two easy to throw latches and the boxes seal up nicely. They come in a variety of colors (red too). It could look really professional if done right.

just an idea...
