send it to the depot and request an upgrade.

should be the normal flat rate, about $300 or so.

of course, with a Nick radio............ i don't know if you'll get it back or not.

i'm sure there are many others that would like to hear what happens when you depot that radio... so post your results here for everyone.

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

Personally I have never read a thread where M kept a "Nick" radio. They have kept the older LAPD style radio's hostage until you told them that they can zap it back to a VSLEP only radio (even now, that old Flashcode is still considered restricted).

If you think that it has too many features, they will remove a feature (see R0f's post) at your request.

There's a black Motorola helicopter that flys around looking for hacked XTS3000's, so you have to be careful!

Sounds good - but they have to have the board in hand to do that. Might be a little hard with whatever inventory "shrinkage" that they may be having.

Motorola doesn't have to have the board in hand. They will be using those pesky black helio's, do a standard grid search pattern over your neighborhood and they use the gigantic electron penetration scanner mounted on it, to find you. After that, they will call in a precision air strike with a JDAM to take out the offending radio.

I've heard the secret squirrel police just break into your locker and take your radio.
