Motorola Type I trunked system

Post by wacker13 »

I am trying to figure out how to program the talkgroups, when I go into that section the screen is greyed out. I know I have the right system key and connect tone. I have the right size code and fleet but it still doesnt work. I have no problem with the type II talkgroups, I dont know why these are so confusing. I only need to add 000-C and 000-D. Anybody with some helpful info let me know.

What radio & CPS package are you working with? MTS? MCS? Astro? What's your Flashcode?

There are no actual "talkgroups" in Type I trunking. That is why the screen is greyed out. It's broken down into FLEETS & SUBFLEETS. You would set your fleet on the same screen as you set your size code. Let's take for example "300-1". Enter 300 as the fleet, you then enter your subfleets in the subfleet screen (for example, subfleets 001 to 00F for an "A" size code). Hope that helps.

Thanks Wavetar that info really helped.----Do you know if block 0 and block 4 would have the same size code and fleet number or would they be different. If different do you know what they are

Receive via IIi mode but in most cases won't transmit unless the controller supports IIi operation. You can catch tails with it though.
