XTS3000 Help Needed

Post by Astro25 »

Hello

A wierd problem has occured with my XTS3000 after programing it. I added in all of the GMRS simplex channels into it and assigned the channels to zone1 accordingly. I had 65 channels programed into zone1 before adding in the GMRS channels following channel 65 in zone1. So after I programed the thing and powered it up it get stuck in self test mode and after I press channel on the menu it unlocks the self test and then when I press the channel select button on the keypad to go to channel 2 it says unporgrammed. So then messing around with it I put the dip switch on bank c then back to bank B then it unlocks that and goes into normal mode but I everytime I want to switch channels I have to go through that whole process again of powering it off then on and all that other crap I just explained. I dont get no fail codes or errors on the display or on the RSS screen at all. So if any one knows what the heck is going on can let me know how to correct it I would very very much appreciate it.

Thanks!
Brian

I am using a XTS3000 III 450-520mhz RSS verion 09.05.00 and its a nick radio with that whored out flashcode lol :x

Holy Macaroni-and-Cheese!

65 Channels in one Zone!

Time to make things more functional! Have you tried spliting out some of those channels into different zones, with slightly! less than 65 channels? I wonder if there is a limit of 64 channels for a zone?

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

In theory, what your doing with the channels works ok, but in reality, the user operation of the radio works the best with 16 channels to a zone. What you can do, is enable the CHAN softkey as one of the 1st 3 keys so it always shows up on the display, that way you can just dial in a channel if need be. What do you have your ABC swtich setup for, and also check your radiolock option screen.

I tried to spred out the channels into different zones and other stuff, but I still have to go through all that voodoo to change channels, wich is funny because the radio is fully functional but you have to go through all that crap to change a channel. So with that I think it might be a firmware issue because the thing still has that old firmware I believe so maybe it need an update.
