can someone please tell me what is needed to FLASH an XTS3000 with more options. if anyone has the right equipment, PM me and i will take it off your hands if possible as i am desperate for it as my XTS3000 has a crappy flashcode is in at the moment. its the following:

Just having the equipment is no good to you. Hardware-wise, you need the 'D' version SmartRIB with 2MB of Flash memory...or so I understand, I've only flashed MCS/MTS units with our 'C' version with 1MB of memory.
Otherwise, a FLASHport upgrade package from Motorola consists of 3 things. A floppy disk with the latest software for the SmartRIB, a floppy disk with the specific FLASH upgrade software on it, and a 'dongle' which is inserted between the SmartRIB and radio programming cable.
The FLASH software will only upgrade between one specific flashcode to a single other specific flashcode, it won't do any others. The dongle will only allow the exact number of flashes that you have purchased from Motorola.
When a FLASHport upgrade is ordered from Motorola, you need to provide them with a list of serial numbers of every radio you are upgrading. That way, they can verify how many radios you are upgrading, and whether or not you legitimately own them.
In short, I doubt anyone other than Motorola will be able to provide you with what you need to do a 'real' FLASHport upgrade.
The other option is to force in a codeplug from another radio which contains the flashcode you desire, using some sort of LAB RSS. Be aware that this carries a certain amount of risk with it. As well, certain features may not work depending on your HOST/DSP versions. Good luck,

Not to mention that out of all the RSS's, LAB is the most illegal to have in your posession, as it was never meant to leave motorola's LABs....

I can vouch for everything they say. I flashed upgraded one basic 800 Mhz smartnet 3.6 K radio to 9.6k P25 smartzone omnilink about a year and a half ago and I needed the 2 meg smartrib, the dongle, the software and I had to give all serial number and the number of radios needing to be flashed to Motorola.
After the dinero passing phase it was a breeze. The cost ?, I don't remember, left that to the purchasing people but it was probably way over the price of one of Nicks XTS3000s.
