XTS3000 flashcode problems

how do i get to see what my xts3000 radio's flashcode is? i heard that there was a way by pressing buttons on the side of it, but i am unsure , so if ANYONE knows how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Press the button above the PTT 5 times after turning the radio on. You might have to do it a couple of times to get the hang of it, or to catch it in time to enter test mode. When you get to 1 CSQ, you can turn the radio back off and on to get out of test mode.

its not working, any other suggestions and are all xts3000's capable of this.

do i press the button 5 times before self test appears on screen or after?

cant seem to get it to do anything
