After A wav File

Post by mrtor »

Good afternoon group
Here in good old Melbourne, Australia we have very limited amounts of Astro to listen too as the technology is still developing down here (no we are not slow just conservative !!).

Anyway, I am lead to believe of the 4 systems that are here they are all supposed to be simple talk through Astro bases ie: no trunking etc

Now listening to all 4 they all have different characteristics when listening on a standard receiver.

I have done a yahoo search and only come up with a couple of sites that contain sample wav files but they are all for trunking.

Does anyone here have any samples of standard Astro bases (talkthrough) that I can have a listen too or perhaps a link that has some non trunked astro....

This is just a curious george excercise on my part

Thanks in advance

i am in sydney australia, I suppose I can just do a recording of some of the NSW Police conventional channels that do astro, or I can just record the repeater that we use astro on and forward a wav file to you

Thanks for that, and guess what that sounds different again.

What I think I'll do is record all 4 onto a few wav files and post them on my web page so that people can have a listen and see if they can tell me anymore.

Cheers
