Hot Keypad in ASTRO Mode on ASTRO P & M

Besides a cloning wizard, CPS 3.1 for ASTRO P & M will support hot keypad dialing in the ASTRO mode (parallel to DTMF encoding in analog), although it will also require a radio firmware refresh (FLASHcode upgrade). CPS 3.1 is still roughly 3+ months out, and the ASTRO P & M firmware refresh is sometime in 1st Qtr 04, and maybe even later. In the meantime, you have to use the workaround procedure for phone interconnect in ASTRO mode. Hot keypad in ASTRO mode on the XTS 5000 is still a Future feature, so who knows.
