Audio problem with an Astro Saber III

Post by RadioGuru116 »

I am having an audio problem with my ASIII. Radio works fine with the speaker mic but when I have the speaker mic of and push the PTT button, no audio comes through when I talk. If I tap on the radio, you can hear the tapping, but no audio when I speak. Any ideas?!?!?!?

Almost certainly your internal condensor mic has gone bad.

Hmmm...can you adjust the mike gain for internal and external mics (in RSS) SEPERATELY like you can with the XTS3500?

I HAVE a AS3 and can't remember......

You MIGHT want to check this out!! .....'twas the problem with my 3500....GREAT audio on the shoulder mike and WAY "down in the grass" on the internal mic. I found the gain set to (-3db) for the "internal" mic....corrected it to "0db" and now is perfect....

Let us know how you make out!

Well, I had already tried the security screw trick and one was loose. I tightened it and no change. I am going to have to check the internal mic gain also. Thanks again for the replies an I will let you know how I make out.
