We are currently using a pair of old Motorola R-1034B Control Line Test Sets for measuring line levels, injecting tones, etc... They are showing their age, and I was curious if there is any newer test equipment available today that is up to the job. What do you use? Hopefully whatever is available today is from a reputable brand, and not built in somebody's garage
Just for S&G's, here is the link to the manual for the R-1034B

FWIW, i've found on that auction site; Ameritec AM-5 Telecom Test set, and a American Reliance 186-T test set; both for very good prices (like almost dirt cheap).
With the much touted and supposed disappearance of analog telco circuits, there are a lot of these units and others that show up. The Ameritec is pretty heavy, tho I got mine with a padded cloth tote-bag for it; Their current models, the AM-44 & AM48 occasionally show up, too; they are smaller, more hand-held units like the 186T.

Thanks for the point in the right direction. The Ameritec AM48XT looks like it will do the job. Unfortunately our company policy is to always buy new. No auction sites and nothing refurbished. At least now I know that somebody still makes these things.

Americtec would be an excellent choice. Another is the ElectroData ATS 2.
