MTR2000 X269 Spectra-TAC Status Encoder

Post by MOTO_LR »

Need someone to provide the Motorola Part # for the Spectra-TAC Status Encoder module for a MTR2000, option X269.

I have located a MTR2000 receiver required for a project and need to determine if it has option X269. The person with the receiver
needs instruction on how to make the X269 determination.

Thank you!

The Spectra-TAC Encoder Module should be labeled right on the front of it.

The part# is a TRN5293A Spectra-TAC Encoder Module, MTR2000

Also a SpectraTac encoder option replaces the 4-wire Line driver and the squelch gate modules with new modules (not sure if they are the same, just reconfigured).

TRN5294A 4-wire Line driver replaces the TRN5236A
TRN5331A squelch gate module replaces the TRN5324A
TKN8287A 4-wire Line cable kit replaces the TKN8286A

This info from the 69P81112E78 manual (part of the 68P81061E40 Control and Audio manual)

The fastest method is to program up the receiver, set it for 2175Hz status tone output enabled and see if that's what you get on the line output of the station. I've never seen one that didn't do it, I wonder if this "option" is just a phantom thing they charge for.
