XPR4550 high standby current when radio turned off

We have a customer with a XPR4550 mobile installed in a very small utility vehicle (nothing more than a glorified motorcycle with an enclosure). They found that if they parked the vehicle for a week the battery was dead and would not start. The problem started after we installed the XPR4550.
Turns out the XPR4550 draws 30 ma on the main red wire when the radio is off. We checked other radios and the most we found was about 7 ma on a CDM.
30 ma seems high to me. May not be an issue in a vehicle with a full size battery, but certainly an issue with a smaller battery.
(Note: My original post incorrectly identified the model as a XPR4550. It should have been a XPR4550 as it was a mobile radio)

Could be leakage current in the rfpa. Either swap the radio with another that has less draw, send it in for service, or put a batt switch on the mains.

We confirmed the same 30 ma on 3 different radios (different vintages), so seems to just be the way these are.
Yes, we resolved it by adding switching the main power (in addition to the ignition sense).
Main reason for posting was to make others aware.

Yeah. Good plan. The new equipment has a parasitic draw all the time. It never really turns off - it just goes to sleep. All the US govt vehicles we work on have a master switch under the hood they have to turn off to prevent dead batteries in cars that are parked long term. There are some automagic timed relay kits out there that cut off batt to customer accessories like two way radios.
AC-DC Industries is one of them.

Assuming you are talking about the XPR4550 mobile and not the 6550 portable- is it installed in dah or remote mount configuration?

Oops, yes, the XPR4550. It was a dash mount (one piece) configuration.
(I will edit my original post for clarity to others)
