Attenuator in R-2001D & R-2002D ?

I am watching an auction on eBay (everyone else stay away!) for an R2002D. Apparently it has an electronic attenuator instead of the mechanical one in an R2001D. Which attenuator is better? Is one more reliable or accurate than the other? I would think that the mechanical would be more reliable, but thought I would ask.
Thanks.

The R2002D has an IEEE-488 option installed, therefore the electronic attenuator. Actually, it is electronically switched for the IEEE control.

ok, that makes sense. Which attenuator is more relaiable? Should I hold out for a plain R-2001D, or is the R-2002D just as reliable? Thanks.

The guts were the same. Only the switching control was different.
