25 khz bandwidth and EID

Post by mmc-dsm »

I read you can get an EID from Motorola to activate the 25 khz bandwidth for radio like an XPR7550. I tried via my moto dealer and directly with moto; wasn't able to get one at all....seems to be defense secret or something. I'm in Canada...

Basically my problem is that I have to program an analog channel where the dispatch uses 25 khz and for now, because my XPR7550 is limited to 12.5khz, the audio cuts like hell. Is there any way to program the radio so it stops audio cutting? I tried pretty much everything and have no more ideas...

Thanks!

Do you have a subscription for the CPS?

I simply started a new "Case" using my on-line account. I had the EID in about 2 days. We use a paging frequency that is exempt from narrowbanding.

If you're in Canada it shouldn't be an issue. Canada isn't narrowbanding like the US. Open a case on MOL and ask for the EID
