You can scan 15 channels per scanlist. The user manual says you can scan sixteen but I have not figured that out yet.

15 channels + selected channel = 16

I haven't cared to count up on my portable, but I think that should be the case. (besides why have your selector on a channel you can't listen to anyway? Kinda defeats the purpose!)
