RSS wont connect to epic

I have a variety of devices that have epic boards in them. Atac Comparators. Quantars, Quantro's, Astrotac receivers.... All of a sudden I can not connect my RSS computer to any of them. I have two computers, two cables and hundreds of devices. They all have the same issue.
The connection tests fine when I go into set up to select the comm port. Any other comm port and it fails. but when you go to connect you get a Connection error, un-able to communicate to the device please check your cable or connection (something like that).
