Voice Quality Over 9.6 kb/s ASTRO Modem

Does anyone know how the voice quality performs over the ASTRO modem? For instance, I'm looking at connecting an ASTRO Quantar repeater to/from an ASTRO DIU 3000 via 9.6 kb/s ASTRO modems at each end (via 3002 4-wire Private Line circuit). I really wonder if the slow, 9600 baud modem will degrade the IMBE voice. I'm assuming a GOOD 3002 circuit, but when I consider how bad VOIP typically performs at 56 kb/s, it's hard to see how a 9600 baud circuit would sound good.

The APCO 25 CAI is designed to live with 9600 baud on the radio channel - a phone line has to be better than radio for error rate..

It really don't sound to bad. The only thing would a time issuse that you set in the radios other wise it don't sound bad I thought it would sound worse then it does.
