I wanted to convert my apx7000 into an xe. I figured it will cost me about 250. I know for the most part is just a cosmetic change. What is your opinion. Is it worth it?

The real question should be, Is it worth it to you?

I am unsure. 250 is not bad, bad yet again its almost purely cosmetic. I guess its probably not worth it.

The XE display is more than $250. I have done a few conversions with the bigger display, well worth it, but I suspect your not referring to swapping out the display?

I know someone that has the parts and knowledge, and its willing to convert my radio into an xe for 250.

than they are doing you a favor at that price. If they are competent and you trust them with your radio, that is a good price considering the parts alone exceed that amount

There is no seperate display for the XE


Only things needing changed are the front & back housing & the control top

NSO on the control top alone is over $300

If someone has all parts for $250 that's a good deal
