XTS-2500 Question

Hello!
One quick question?
I have a XTS-2500 Model II
When I read the radio with software. It shows 512 channels.
Just curious to see if it can be flashed or upgraded to 870 channels.
I figure it is one of those cheap rebanding portables.
Thanks
David

You might want to post the Model & FW levels from the Info tab.

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't have the 870 unless one of two things are possible:
1. You are using very old CPS (I should of asked this as well), or
2. Someone did a firmware update (flashzap method) without a flashkey and it really doesn't have 19.50.00 in the radio.
Others might want to chime in if I missed something.

Well to answer the question on the upgrade.
"KO" done the last upgrade for me.
Since he has passed away I have no way of finding out anything.
Also I am using the very latest version of XTS-2500 software.
I figure the radio was one of those replacement rebanding radios.
Is it possible for it to be upgraded to 870 channels from 512?
let me know if anybody can do this and a price.
Thanks
David

The codeplug structure was never updated on the last refresh.. There are a couple of things that will cause this problem. The first is that the radio was manually bootstrapped, and the firmware was loaded through the back door. The second is that someone used an old version of Depot floating around that doesn't support 870 channels.
Regardless of what happened in the radios past, a legit CPS ibutton firmware refresh will update the codeplug structure, and correct the max channels.
