1750 Hz Repeater Access Tone on Motorola CDM Radio

Hi all!

Is there a way to get European Repeaters Access Tone (1750 Hz burst) on Motorola CDM1250/1550 radio? Looks like it's impossible other than via QC-II. But in case of QC-II you will get 2 tones as minimum and each one will be standard length (longer than needed). Typical 1750 tone burst length is 0.5-0.8 seconds, so, 2 tones with total length something like 5 seconds will be very excessive and annoyment.

With EU firmware and CPS you can do that via Select V, but you lose a lot of useful CDM features like conventional RSSI, zones, per channel audio settings and a lot of very small but useful thing.

ANy ideas?

Outboard encoder on the microphone port or rear accessory connector. Or tell the repeater group to get with the times and switch to PL. I thought this 1750Hz thing was on the way out?

In my country, real men can whistle 1750, and bring up repeater every time.

Okay, if radios with US firmware can't do that, I will stick with EU Select V firmware on some radios. To have access to EU repeaters. A lot of them still existing and owners are not intended to change something.

Yeah, so I've read. 1750 on the first attempt to bring up a repeater along with PL to keep it open. Interesting control hierarchy. I have not read whether 1750 is used to knock it down afterwards, or if it times out.
