Note the elimination of the Q53 FPP dongle. Only password protection needed now.

Considering you can't load it without APX CPS 16 (which has not been released yet) then I would think the answer is no.

CPS 16 is out now; the suite is 2.7 GB. Maybe it will finish downloading by quitting time?

They've only posted the "with radio management" option. Wish they would remain consistent and post the one without.

32 Minutes remaining!

Looking forward to trying the "Digital Evacuation Tone" feature. That's been a long time coming.

Confirmed that this is correct. The dongles are now history from the side of me and my staff's APX 7K's.

I had a chance to program this during the afternoon while I was doing some P25 CP updates. It is very cool and simulates the XTL colors except that you can select by mode. So I did green for the Sheriff, red for Fire, orange for local government, and white for everything else.

The only caveat is the radio loses the ability to change colors for the automatic notification, such as a received emergency alert.

I also updated my APX 7000 and APX 4500 and have not experienced any issues (knock on wood). I haven't had a chance to use any of the new features yet.

Updated both my 7000 and 6000XE (AN). Not to be a party pooper but the "Channel Color Backlight" feature is a waste of a possibly
good feature as you have to disable all other notification & emergency lighting:

Considering my users depend on the Emergency lighting I can't enable it on their radios.

Yup that was noted up above... it could be an operational issue for some.

Has anyone gotten CPS 16 without RM to work?

I installed it without incident, but when I try to read an APX8000 (running firmware R15.12.00) via USB, the radio briefly goes into programming mode, but then reboots. The CPS then reports an "application error". CPS 15 on the same machine works fine. I tried reinstalling and repairing CPS 16, but got the same result. So basically, I can't read a radio with CPS 16, but I can do so fine with CPS 15.

Is it just me? I'm about to download the RM version to see if I can make that version work.

Thanks

I downloaded 16.00 without RM and it works fine. I updated an APX8000 firmware. Seems to work for me. Win7 Professional.

This interesting note has been added to the APX CPS 16 listing on MOL:
R16.01.00 will be released by the end of May which includes an update for frequency ranges applicable only in Canada. We recommend waiting to upgrade to R16.01.00 if possible to avoid upgrading twice

Didn't have a problem with the standalone version, Installed and have updated an APX8000 that was having the -wrong battery- issue. Unfortunately it still has that issue with the impress2 batteries in our lot, so will be holding off any more.

APX CPS 16.00.00 was on MOL yesterday, but it's gone today. The firmware is still there...

It's back (dated 23 May 2017)
As of typing this, just the non-RM version is up (1.7 GB)
(and still shown as R16.00.00)

I've been running it for some time on multiple PC's without issues.
