I was trying to clone a XPR7550 that I have and I got a message, I did not continue.
"Codeplug versions in archives and device do not match. Fields in device that are not present or are out the vaild range in archive will be set to default values. Do you want to continue ? ".
Is this going to screw up the tuning values in the radio I'm cloning ? I don't want that. Same message on Cloning XPR4550"s too with different Firmwares. These are Ham radios not commercial. Do I have to build the CPG in the Higher FW radio from scratch or is it ok to clone ?
CPS 14.0
Codeplug firmware 2.50.04 ( my other radio)
Codeplug firmware 2.06.05 ( radio to be cloned) My radio too

Re: Cloning XPR7550"s
You shouldn't have any problems and it certainly won't mess up tuning values. They often add features to new firmware so it's just letting you know that anything that doesn't exist in one or the other will be defaulted. I'd just check everything in the cloned radio afterwards to make sure nothing gets pushed out of wack but I've cloned many radios in the past with that warning and haven't had any issues.
Re: Cloning XPR7550"s
If the error is based on features, firmware or otherwise. The older firmware radio has Connect Plus and the newer version doesn't. I don't use Connect Plus anyway.

Re: Cloning XPR7550"s
I printed out the data from both radios just in case I try it.

Re: Cloning XPR7550"s
It's okay to clone.
The safest method is to have the source and target codeplugs open in the same session of RSS, and then cut-n-paste from one to the other.
