Out of curiosity just wondering if anyone knows whether this model "with or without"
modification will accurately work in the ham 1295Mhz spectrum area?

According to the Bird manual, 25-1000 Mhz: see here - http://birdrf.com/~/media/Bird/Files/PD ... meter.ashx

I am well aware of the specs hence my question and am hoping for someone with first hand experience
above 1Gz since 23cm is not that far out of spec.

I have used my Bird 43 with a 400-1000Mhz slug to take relative measurements on the 1.2Ghz ham band. For example, measuring forward and reverse power readings to calculate SWR for a coax/antenna setup on my truck. I am sure that the readings were off a bit, but since both forward & reverse were probably off by the same amount, it worked fine.

Never used a 4304A though, sorry.

I have a Bird 43 with the correct elements but have two vehicles(personal and work) and am out and about
with the work vehicle more often and will probably acquire a 4304A for the work vehicle hence my question.
My having a 1.2Ghz repeater i contemplate the need to have to make due with the 4304A for this reason.
