Anyone play with the SLR Series of repeaters and can expound on them? I've been asked about them, but don't know any more than specs & brochures & such on MOL.

As such, SLR1000 - one to 10 watts, very compact form factor.

SLR5000, up to 50 watts, 1 RU high.

SLR8000, up to 100 Watts, looks similar to GTR8000 in size.

I run a UHF SLR5700 and it works great. The fans are loud.

I have a dozen or so '5700 both VHF and UHF to look after, what do you want to know?

Most specifically, how easy is interfacing? My quantars I've got I have connected to some site monitoring equipment.

I take out 3 signals, COR, Station Keyed, and a signal that's active when the PTT comes from wireline.

Then I do a PTT On for input;

Do all this with wildcard signals via the 50 pin telco connector.

Can the GPIO signals act the same way?

I believe so but the experience I have is in DMR where the only interface used is Ethernet.

SLR repeaters don't have internal tone remote interfaces like the Quantar does, so you'll need an external tone panel. You might be able to piggyback off the COR and PTT lines but loading might be an issue, depending on the input impedance of the digital inputs on your site monitoring box.

The SLR 8000 does support tone keying and voting output. It is more or less a replacement for the MTR 3000.

Cool, when can we get that feature set in the SLR5700s? :p
