APX6000 Powers Off When Reading Radio

We have a small batch of new APX6000 model 2.5 radios that power off when attempting to read the radio codeplug with CPS. This happens with multiple radios, different batteries, and different programming computers. I have not tried a different cable, as I have only one on hand at the moment. The programming cable I am using is PMKN4012B. I am using APX CPS version 15.00.01.

Do I need a newer version of the CPS? Is this the correct programming cable?

TIA,

Ed

Cps is up to R33 I believe. If they’re truly “new” 6000’s they won’t read with R15. I’d upgrade your CPS and try again.

Not sure of the radio turning off when reading. The radios do power cycle after they’re read from my experience.

Cable should be the correct cable.

Hope this helps.

yeah ...CPS15 is quite old.

What version is the firmware and the model number

Usually I would be using much later like CPS 28

I usually tend to lag on the software and firmware since M is notorious for bugs and issues in both.

I would try to keep the firmware below 28

Thanks for the replies.

The radio model is H98KGF9PW6BN.

I should be receiving the latest CPS soon, so I can see if that is the issue.

It was the CPS. The version I initially used, unsuccessfully, was 15.00.01.

I installed APX CPS R33.00.01 on my programming laptop and it read the radio successfully.
