Select 5 with Astro Saber III

Post by AndreasP »

Hello all,

I want to know how I must programm the Astro, to send the "Select 5 tones", or 5 tone call via Keypad. Which parameters do I have to activate in the software?

I want to enter the five different tones via keypad (like 85201), and then i want to send it out.

Greetings

It might however do Modat, depending on your flashcode and if IMBE of VSELP.

Modat is the LAPD, "cops" tv show sound. You might have been referring to that noise?

Good luck.

Chefa is correct. "Select 5" is essentially the European version of MDC1200. Not that they are compatible in any way, shape, or form...but it's what they use over there to accomplish the same things. The AS III won't do it, period. Unless there's a European version of the AS III (like the MX1000 to the Saber) that you could jam a codeplug of into...that might work.

SELECT V

While we're onthe topic of select-v here, Just in case anyone is not aware-

If you play with the options in the GM300, select ZVEI and custom set the tone(s) and lengths, then you esentially have a radio that does Modat, although it's not exactly the same sound.

It was quite funt o experiment with, I must have made dozens of variations to the setup screens in there one day and programmed the radio over 10 times to hear differnt combinations.

Something to do in your spare time @ the bench if you're bored.

Hello all

Thanks for your messeges, but I have a other question:

Can I use the Keypad to select the channels directly? For example I have 20 Channels programmed, and I would like to hear the 18th channel. Can I programm the radio, that I enter the 18 on the keypad, and thats it?

Because, I would programm 100 Channels into the radio, I don´t want to use the zones. I want to use the keypad for the channel select.

Greetings

If you enable the "CHAN" menu key, you can. All you will have to do is press it then the correct channel, and your there.
