Astro Spectra Upgrade Question

I would like to know if that radio can be upgraded to a 450-482 or 450-512 model. Also, if it can be then upgraded to a W-7.

Mike,
I looked at that radio, as I can use one also. But considering all the RF related boards would have to be changed out, and the PA might not (most likely won't) give full power out with that big a band change - I just decided it wasn't worth the trouble.
There are some real experts on here that can give a detailed explanation, but for the cost involved you would be better off waiting for one in the right band to come along - and believe me, I have looked at several "deals" like this to do just what you are suggesting.

I'm just really looking for a UHF Astro Spectra.... I have a 2 VHF W-7's, and an 800 W-7.... need 1 more to complete the series....

Couldn't talk you out of one of the VHF ones could I? With the narrow band HRN 6014 C or D board........

Actually, the VHF ones don't have the narrowband board in them..... YET lol
