Hi,

I am trying to program Motorola Spectra's VHF and UHF that have front and rear heads. I got the cable layout from batlabs.com but which of the 2 DB25 connectors does the programming cable attach? These are the high power units with the seperate power connector.

Please send response to me at "[email protected]".

Thanks in advance,
Doug

From what I read... it's whichever one you don't have the head plugged into.... Either or. I think it says you can even plug in another head and have front/rear simple as that. Anyone?

I have always programmed the high power spectras through the 25 pin connector between the handle. It is in the middle of the of the front of the radio. I am not even sure if you can program it through the one on the left under the power plug.

the middle plug is correct. this is also the plug you would connect the cable to the system9000 options - siren (1185e), VRS, voice recorder, etc.
When you program the radio you will get the error for no rear control head at post. After you disconnect the programming cable and recconect the rear head, that error should not show again unless there is a problem with the rear head cable or the head itself.
