CTCSS disable on rocker switch not working properly

Astro Saber 3 VHF with encryption DES/DES-XL module installed. The DES module is disabled in the CPS, and CTCSS enable/disable is assigned to the rocker switch (not the concentric switch). If I'm on a freq. with CTCSS enabled, and I go to switch the CTCSS off using the rocker switch, the CTCSS does get disabled, BUT when I go to re-enable the CTCSS (just flip the switch back), the CTCSS will not enable untill I rotate the channel switch and change zones. The CTCSS is disabled on all channels untill I mess with the channels and zones.

Specs on this problem radio:
VHF
R5.60.00
DSP 6.05.01
flash 581001-041A00-1

Could it be that the DES module is interfering with the radios firmware preventing the CTCSS on the rocker switch from work properly?

I've got a slightly older firmware UHF AS3 setup the same exact way (but no cypher module), and no problems with CTCSS on the rocker switch.

This would not be a problem, but I got a cheap friend who refuses to upgrade his ham radio (no PL - that old of a radio!!).

You need to do this

K101 - thanks for the input. I only have the ability to program the radio on my main system, and no where near it right now. Later tonight, I will most certanly try what you suggested.

Thanks for responding so fast :D

OK, check in RSS for HUB Defeats PL, and it was enabled already. So that was not the problem. I went through the RSS/CPS manual again for the millionth time, and nothing seemed to be programmed wrong.

Finally came across the "Designated Data Member" :o and it was the problem. I had incorrectly and accidently messed up with this codeplug. It was set to Selected Channel, where in my case it needed to be none. :-?
