Anyone have a pic of an actual depot tag layout?

Please omit any serial nums....

Just curious as to the correct layout...

Anyone also have a scan of the FLASHport graphic they care to share...

If you have a radio that is legit and has been recased why wouldn't you try to 'reproduce' tags as accurately as possible with the correct data...in the proper layout?

Now on the other hand if you are trying to scam someone that is a differing story....

Are you trying to verify the tags on a radio you have? If that is the case why don’t you post photos or scans of the tag(s) in question and I am sure someone will help you out then.

If you had the radio recased then you would have the original tags, If Motorola recased it then tags would come with the recased radio.

Try a Motorola dealer, they may be able to get tags for you once they verify the info, I did that with a saber III I recased a few years ago, I took the radio with new case and the old case to the dealer that I knew locally and they got the tags from Motorola for me.

No I am actaully assuming what they look like as I generated a set to put on the radio I do have...

Right BUT I recased it..gee not that hard now is it... If I could have read the old tags and/or kept the case life would be easy now wouldn't it... ...at the time it did not really matter to me...but I am on a tag kick now...

Last I read here doing a search that there is a flat rate to have tags put on the radio from /\/\...mind you paying ridiculous amount of $$$ for tags is silly, but that is my .02.

What I am trying to do is tag the radio as if it was done by

Many of the radios on ebay have decent pictures of the serial/flashcode tags on them, for comparison purposes.

That is true... but none I have seen are listed as depot tags....

The past thread on these tags were that they were white as opposed to the sometimes black with green..

Well it just seemed like you might be going down the wrong road....

IF it's new tags you want for the radio you might even be able to order them directly from Motorola...or like someone else suggested at a Motorola shop.

Reproducing the factory tags do not seem to be too easy. Although the MT2000 I had recently sent to the depot had new tags on it that looked like what would come off of a Brother P*Touch printer.

It looks like a white 18mm or so thermal label type tape was used. The tag on mine has black lettering in the following manner:

The bottom line is in real! small text and I don't know if Illinois is completely spelled out. The end is rubbed off on mine.

Motorola Inc. is written in larger Text too than the rest of the model/serial numbers

When my AS3 came back, on the replacement flashcode sticker listed the Flashcode, model number and date I believe. I'll have to take off the beltclip to double check.

Got a AS3 that was recased right before I got it - no tags. This is a legit radio, so I had a different radios (kegit too)that was sent into the depot and was retagged and used that format and my brother P-touch label maker to make an replacement for my AS3. Guess I did a good job, as at least 10 people at hamfests have looked at my radio, and noticed the tag I made in the back and all thought it was original motorola tag. I just said ya

The label maker is the one that hookes up to the PC, and i loaded 1000's of fonts to get the right font inthe right place. These depot tags use many different fonts

The p-touch labels are not exactly like the thermal process Motorola uses, but is close enough to fool most. I am not out to fool anyone, but incase I get stopped by the fuzz, my radios have a serial tag at least.
