Hello,
I have an XTS3500 Model III UHF which sometimes "reboots itself" when scaning a zone. I have reloaded the codeplug which did not help. Has anyone seen this before.
thanks
Joe

Check to see how the battery is fitting to the radio chassis.

Battery fits fine. Reset happens even if the unit is just sitting on the table.

Radio may have been improperly flashed. I had an AS3 that came with some screwy flashcode, and everytime a MDC burst came over if MDC was enabled on that channel, the radio would reboot.

joeyb,
Are you using a W&W Battery? They still have some issues with their cheap product. The contacts don't make a good connection with the radio. Causing the radio to shut off at times.
Also check your flex cable to see if it is making a good connection on both ends.

The problem does not appear to be with the battery. I beleive it has to do with the Flashcode thats in it. It is a "parts Radio" .
I am going to try to disable some features and see if that helps.

I have an 800 meg watchbuddy xts3000 (to make explinations simpler)....
When I'm in my primary trunked system, and scan ANY combination of channels.... it resets.. HOWEVER, if I scan from any other system it's fine...
OTAR, OTACS, Software Encryption, Modat, are ALL OFF....
Any ideas?

Joe,
I bet you are scanning 440-450 ham channels when it resets, right? If so, try only scanning 450-520 MHz channels and your see if your reset problem goes away. I found this to be a problem with my XTS3500 UHF 450-520 radio. I could get the radio to reset while sitting on a 440 ham channel occasionally, but mostly it happened when there was a ham channel being scanned.

Yosh,
you are 1000% correct. I removed the 440 - 450 freqs from the scan list and the radio does not reset.
THANK YOU...
Joe
