Spectra / Astro Spectra

Post by Ahoeg »

Hello

Can anyone tell me something about the Astro Spectra,
modes - options and thinks like that.
I know the normal Spectra
and would like to know what i get more,
if i buy a Astro Spectra.
Is it possible to protect the radio with password??
How much do they go for in usd,
if we are talking about a VHF
??-174 mhz with a A7 head??

Thanks for your help.

Can't password protect it.

256 Modes possible.

$800-$1000 for a good used one seems about right, maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

Good Start?

If it has the proper flashcode, yes.

It will only display the 4 digit Hex though, not aliased text like the CDM1550 for example.

Also beware that just because it says ASTRO on it doesn't mean it is digital flashed. I know of several people who got "normal" digital ready astros that just figured because it said astro it would do it. It needs to be flashed for digital use.

Also won't do narrow band out of the box, unless it has the right RF board. Found that out the good old-fashioned hard way.
