Not quite Raymond-

I am only wondering what this device is since I have never seen one before. Do you know?

Interesting that it's never been used, but that power cord is all messed up.

It is basically a P50 radio inside a box attached to a two-tone paging encoder. Very versatile, you can use it for one-way voice paging or talk-back paging with portables. Motorola doesn't support them, and hasn't for years, but some shops will still service them. For what it does, very few products are around that will compete, save the People Finder (discontinued) or various aftermarket bases from Zetron and others.
