CPS R01.04.00 allows out of band without mod?

OK, have AS3 403 to 470Mhz cut. Modified R01.04.00 to take the radio to 490Mhz (there were 4 locations that needed hex editing). Open the s/w and tried to program in a 480Mhz freq. It would not work, and reset it to the previous value entered in before (like it should do if the .exe was NOT modified). All I could program in is up to 477Mhz. I searched the exe again for a 477 bandlimit, and there was one instance of 470000000 in the exe. when under the hex editor.

Could it be that the CPS will allow a 403 to 470 radio to actually program up to 477 without modifying the exe, but just :o about being out-of-band?

Another question: If you modify the exe, will the software still complain about freqs being out of band even if the frequencies you entered are within the limits you modified the exe file? I ask this because the exe I modified to 490 still complained about 471Mhz freqs. being out-of-band when I save the code-plug. The 471Mhz originally got into the radio from modified RSS.

Thanks guys :P

if it is going to 477 then search for a 477 band limit.

My main question is does the regular unmodified CPS allow for out of band programming up to 477 for the 403-470Mhz cut radios. :D

Yes, it does...starting with version 1.04.00, I believe.

Wavetar, thats what I started to think after modifying the CPS to 490Mhz, and it still only wentto 477Mhz. The 470000000 areas must be changed as well as the 47700000 reference if you want the radio to go past 477Mhz

Knowing that I can program a 470Mhz linit radio to 477 is just fine by me, and CPS doesn't need to be modified.

Thanks for the feedback guys :)

R01.02.00 also allowed up to 477MHz without modification. But yeah... bitched it was out of band.
