Gentlemen,

Is it possible to purchase a proberly configured AS III to be configured as a digital capable scanner for the new APCO-25 9.6k digital systems as we have here in Michigan? Can the radio be loaded with the proper frequencies and listen without having to log-on to the system?

If this is possible what would be the mininum option # codes required to accomplish this?

I have a fair amount of experience with Motorola analog equipment, however I am new to digital operations.

Your comments and assistance would be most appreciated.

Regards,

Mike

Nope, the radio will not work properly without affiliation. You could, however, program the nearest tower's frequencies into the radio and scan it conventionally, like I do with the MSP system. But, if that's all you plan on doing, then the Uniden Scanner will easily suffice.

My radio, however, operates on the Smartnet Control channel though, the Uniden Scanner will do that too, but when I got the radio, the Uniden digital scanner was still a long ways from production!
