Most commercial battery chargers have
good filters for ac ripple.
An example of power on a portable.
MT1000 vhf 5 watts
A:on standby 60ma
B:on receive 160ma
c: on transmit 1600ma

So if you have a charger greater than
250ma then and the battery is charged
and good filtering then go for it.
Most fast charger are one amp.
It works for us.

Hello.

I use a convertacom with whatever HT and a small 'under 7 amp' AC supply.
This works great.
I have left radios in this mode for months on end, no problem, and I have the advantage of a external antenna to transmit on.
If you do leave a radio on charge for the long term, it is best to condition the battery pack every so often, once every 3 to 6 months works for me.

Thank You.
