Programing Cables for XTS 2500

Post by Radioshop »

Local fire dept. that has MTS-2000 800 Mhz radios Just bought 10 XTS 2500 radios. They were told buy salesman that the MTS 2000 Had been Discontuned!! ( Not as Of Today). They did not check with use before purchase. Question will the MTS -2000 Programing cable program the XTS 2500 Mot. List as different Part Number?? . If Not we are going to make the fire dept. buy the cable. I think the MTS-2000 cable is the same but we need to be sure.

Thanks

There are actually two versions of the cable. The USB (RKN4106A) as Shaun mentioned, and the Ribless serial cable (RKN4105A). I haven't looked at ours closely yet, but I'm thinking the regular Jedi cable with a RIB could be used just by switching a few pins around. I could be completely wrong though.

Anyone have a diagram of the cable that uses the RIB Box. We can make one and charge the Fire dept for it.
